Body sugaring is a centuries old hair removal practice dating back to the Ancient Egyptians. By applying an all-natural sugar paste to the desired treatment area, the hair is removed from the root in the natural direction of the hair growth, encouraging the hair to grow back in its natural direction. This substantially eliminates ingrown hairs, taking away dead skin and congestion from every hair follicle, without the irritation. This gentle technique significantly reduces the amount of pain normally associated with hair removal. To find out more visit sugarshakbeauty.com.
Sugar Shak Beauty’s treatment sessions are now available by appointment here at Headspace and Dapper at The Colombo.

Sustainable Salons rescue up to 95% of our salon resources from landfill and finds repurposing solutions that benefit our planet, all while supporting the community. All this means for you is a $2 green fee per visit to us! Our excess chemicals build roads, your hair helps clean up oil spills, and our plastic is reused and made into various products such as outdoor furniture. Once our tools reach the end of their life they are broken down and all valuable parts will be repurposed. Each full head of foils will provide a quarter of a meal to a disadvantaged person! When you list out all the benefits, we like to think the planet is worth a tiny $2! sustainablesalons.org

Lisa has been in the hairdressing industry for over 30 years, so it would be fair to say that it is more than a job to her! She loves meeting new people, getting to know them, and becoming part of their regular routine. Lisa’s passion is creating a new look for her guests, whether it’s a new colour or cut or just trying to cope with curly unruly hair, that’s right, someone who works wonders with curls
With time comes experience and Lisa is well experienced in all areas of the industry including competing successfully in editorial and live model competitions. Lisa says this helps her to keep up with current trends which is important when she is helping guests create a new look that they can feel confident wearing and maintaining.
Lisa has recently completed her commercial barbering qualification, having recognised the rising trend in men’s work. She feels that already being a hairdresser gives her an extra advantage in giving guests extra services like colour and perming that barbers don’t offer.
Currently, Lisa is extending her hair portfolio and is in the process of learning Hair Extensions which are already available in the salon. I see this as a trend that I would love to offer my clients.
Outside the salon, Lisa enjoys time outdoors with her family, mountain biking, camping and golf. She also spends time keeping fit, running and biking in between checking out the latest coffee shop that has opened!
